Brazil Coffee Exports Reach Record High of 50.4 Million Bags in 2024

Brazil achieved a remarkable milestone in 2024, exporting a record 50.4 million 60-kg bags of coffee, as reported by the industry group Cecafe. This surge in exports includes both arabica and robusta varieties, driven by supply challenges from other major coffee producers like Vietnam.

Key Highlights:
Export Growth:

Total coffee exports from Brazil increased by 28.5% compared to 2023, surpassing the previous record of 44.7 million bags set in 2020.
Contribution of Green Coffee:

Green coffee shipments (excluding industrialized coffee) rose by 30.2% year-on-year, totaling 46.3 million bags. This growth occurred despite a 10.5% decline in exports during December.
Market Dynamics:

Marcio Ferreira, head of Cecafe, attributed the strong export performance to a global market characterized by lower supply and rising prices, benefiting Brazil as the world’s largest coffee producer and exporter.
Variety Performance:

Both arabica and robusta varieties saw historic high shipments, reflecting Brazil’s dominant position in the global coffee market.
