Freeport LNG Returns to Full Production

Freeport LNG has successfully returned to full production as of Sunday, pulling over 2 billion cubic feet (bcf) of natural gas, according to LSEG data. As the second-largest LNG exporter in the United States, Freeport LNG is closely monitored due to its significant impact on global gas prices, especially during shutdowns and restarts.

The facility had been shut down since July 7 in anticipation of Hurricane Beryl and has gradually increased its feedgas demand since then. Two weeks prior, Freeport announced a plan to restart its operations one processing train at a time to address repairs from hurricane damage.

This marks the first instance since July 7 that the plant has approached its full capacity of 2.2 bcf per day.
