Rosatom Accuses Ukraine of Attack on Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant

Russia’s nuclear power corporation, Rosatom, has accused Ukraine’s military of launching a series of attacks on the Russian-held Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station. The U.N.’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has called for an immediate halt to such incidents.

Rosatom reported that three individuals were injured, one seriously, in the attacks. While both Russian officials and the IAEA confirmed that radiation levels were normal and the damage was not severe, the situation has raised concerns about the potential risk of a nuclear disaster.

The Ukrainian intelligence official denied any involvement from Kyiv and suggested that the attacks may have been carried out by Russian forces themselves. The Zaporizhzhia plant, the largest in Europe, has been a focal point of conflict between the two sides, with accusations of attacks and the looming threat of a nuclear crisis.
