India’s Reliance Industries, known for operating the world’s largest refining complex, has decided to stop purchasing Russian oil loaded on tankers operated by Sovcomflot (SCF) following recent sanctions imposed by the United States. This decision comes as Russian oil firms encounter challenges in finding ships to transport surplus oil after Ukrainian drone attacks on the country’s refineries. The sanctions on Sovcomflot and 14 crude oil tankers involved in Russian oil transportation were imposed by the U.S. in February, contributing to the ongoing export difficulties faced by Russia.
