Taiwan’s MFIG purchasing group has acquired approximately 65,000 metric tons of animal feed corn, expected to be sourced from Brazil, through an international tender. The corn was purchased at an estimated premium of 194.99 U.S. cents per bushel, including cost and freight (c&f) over the Chicago December 2024 corn contract.
The transaction is believed to have been facilitated by trading house ADM. Shipment for the corn is scheduled between September 18 and October 7 if sourced from the U.S. Gulf, Brazil, or Argentina. If sourced from the U.S. Pacific Northwest coast or South Africa, shipments are expected between October 3 and October 22.
