Ukraine’s Grain Exports Reach 38 Million Metric Tons in 2023/24 Marketing Season

Ukraine’s grain exports for the July-June marketing season of 2023/24 have reached nearly 38 million metric tons as of April 15, according to data from the agriculture ministry. This represents a decrease from the 39.7 million metric tons reported at the same time the previous year.

The exports for the current season have comprised 14.8 million tons of wheat, 20.7 million tons of corn, and 2.1 million tons of barley. Historically, Ukraine has directed approximately 95% of its grain exports through its deep water Black Sea ports.

The Ukrainian government has forecasted a harvest of 81.3 million tons of grain and oilseeds in 2023, with an expected exportable surplus of about 50 million tons for the 2023/24 marketing season.
