Yemen’s Houthis carried out missile attacks on the fuel tanker MADO in the Red Sea and Israel’s Eilat port and resort region using naval and winged missiles, according to the group’s military spokesperson Yahya Sarea. The Marshall-Islands flagged liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanker, believed to be American by the Houthis but owned by Naftomar Shipping & Trading Co Ltd of Greece, was en route to Singapore from Saudi Arabia. The Houthi attacks on international commercial shipping in the Red Sea have caused disruptions, leading to longer and costlier routes for firms.
